At the Isaac Walton League of America, Gaithersburg, MD
Our registration page will go live soon!
Lord Baltimore's Challenge was created with a number of goals in mind. Here are just a few:
- To promote rapier and sidesword play on the East coast.
- To, accordingly, bring in several of the top instructors of the rapier and sidesword arts to teach at one location.
- To design tournaments that feature experienced instructors as dedicated ring directors and judges.
- To promote a robust inter-mingling of the HEMA and SCA steel combat communities.
- To offer up a chance for fencers to test themselves, stretch beyond their comfort zones, meet new people, and have a great time.
This is the fourth LBC! This year we are focusing entirely on training, and on helping you to become the best fencer you can possibly be. Sunday will even be a full day on applied training with quasi-competitive break out sessions. See the schedule page for more details!
I hope you attend for the fighting, the camraderie, and the world-class instruction, and, if you do, I sincerely hope you leave with a smile on your face, new knowledge in your head, and new friends to look forward to seeing again.

COVID-19 Policy:
Lord Baltimore's College will take place in an outdoor venue, with some time spent sitting under a shade pavillion in potentially close quarters with others. We do not require the use of masks, but masking is enthusiastically encouraged for those who wish to take that precaution. LBC encourages all participants to ensure that their COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are up to date before attending. Please contact info@lordbaltimoreschallenge.com with questions.
We reserve the right to require masks if the local context changes significantly.
